Prunelax
The challenge was not just to animate display ads, but to preserve TVC fidelity inside a much tighter technical envelope. This project shows how disciplined asset building and motion control can turn broadcast-aligned creative into deployable digital advertising without losing polish.
Context
Prunelax needed a series of digital display ads for three campaigns that matched the TVC ads. The work had to be ready for deployment across ad networks with strict file size limitations, while still feeling smooth, interactive, and visually finished.
Role
I animated and delivered the digital display ads across the three campaigns, working closely with the Creative Director and Design team.
My task was to create 27 animated ads that were built perfectly, animated beautifully, and shipped within a very short timeframe.
Hurdles
Each of the 27 ads had a unique combination of size, aspect ratio, content, and animation. For every single one, we had to satisfy several constraints at once:
- They had to stay within strict ad network file size limits.
- They needed to perform well and animate smoothly.
- They needed interactive touchpoints.
- They required careful QA before deployment.
Solution
The solution was to build the ads with restraint and precision. Assets were converted into spritesheets where possible, vectors were used where possible, and Greensock handled the animation system so motion could stay controlled and lightweight. Oceanview, the in-house SaaS platform, was used to manage QA and keep delivery disciplined.
Process
The digital ads were designed and handed over to me for animation and delivery. From there, the work focused on translating the static designs into a digital animation format that could survive technical constraints without losing quality. That meant reducing asset weight, animating programmatically, and checking each build carefully through the QA workflow before deployment.
Key decisions
- Used spritesheets to control asset weight.
- Used vectors where possible to keep files lean.
- Used Greensock to animate everything with precise control.
- Used interactive touchpoints to make the units feel alive rather than static.
- Used Oceanview to manage QA and keep the builds deployment-ready.
- Kept the implementation aligned with TVC creative rather than treating the display ads as a separate visual direction.
Outcome
The result was a set of superbly smooth animated ads with actionable touchpoints, delivered in a perfect state and ready to deploy. The project showed that it is possible to preserve creative fidelity while solving hard production constraints through asset discipline, motion systems, and QA rigor. This work proves that creative-technologist practice can translate high-fidelity creative into technically constrained formats without compromising quality, performance, or readiness.
